 s, the show was a major social event in Harrisburg, and the Kiwanis volunte
 ers wore tuxedos as they sold tickets and programs. Arthur Godfrey televise
 d live nationwide from his horse Goldie at the show in 1955 and 1956. Throu
 ghout the horse show’s partnership with the Harrisburg Kiwanis, more than $
 1.5 million went back to the youth of Central Pennsylvania. Today, funds fr
 om the horse show fuel the PNHS Foundation, which awards annual grants to e
 quine rescues and therapeutic riding programs.
